Nurturing and developing our children for the future

Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Eastbury Farm School!

As Headteacher I am delighted to welcome you to our website, which I hope will give you a flavour of who we are. I believe the journey of nurturing and developing our children for the future is a shared responsibility.  We have a great community ethos and there is a real family feel to the school.  Our school vision is to see children leave Eastbury Farm inspired and confident to be successful learners, ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the next stage of their education.  Our school values have been chosen by our children and staff and are an important part of our ethos.  We focus on one key value each month with the aim of ensuring by the time each child leaves our school, they have an intrinsic set of values to take with them into the future.

At the heart of our approach is the understanding that each child is unique and special.  We strive for the highest academic standards but also recognise that education goes beyond just academic outcomes.  I believe it is important to nurture and develop the individual strengths of each child.  Currently, on the journey through Eastbury Farm Primary School, every child in year 3 and year 4 has the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument.   All children have the opportunity to try a range of sports and take part in competitions both in school and with other schools.  Britsh Values are reflected in our wide range of leadership opportunities for which children can stand for election.  Older children mentor and support younger children and consequently develop a sense of responsibility and care for others.  I firmly believe that there is something for every child here at Eastbury Farm.

Exciting learning is the key to our educational philosophy.  We know that when children are engaged, curious and motivated they achieve their full potential.  We have extensive grounds which we are increasingly using to support learning and our curriculum.  Many of our curriculum themes start with a visit to an inspiring location, or through visitors and workshops.  We have a wonderfully diverse community and encourage our parents and wider community to share a vast range of cultures, religions and experiences with us.  We are developing a shared set of values through which we will continue to support children to develop their emotional, social and ethical abilities.  Together we can empower our children to be confident, successful, resilient and responsible citizens of tomorrow.

With my best wishes

Miss Ormonde
